Curriculum
Palabek Secondary School follows the national curriculum prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Sports, providing learners with a comprehensive and structured academic programme at both Ordinary Level (UCE) and Advanced Level (UACE).
At the Lower Secondary level (S.1–S.4), the school offers a broad range of subjects designed to develop learners’ knowledge, practical skills, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum includes core subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History and Political Education, Geography, and Christian Religious Education. Learners also have opportunities to study subjects such as Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Kiswahili, Leb Acoli, and Fine Art.
The school embraces the competency-based Lower Secondary Curriculum, which places emphasis not only on academic knowledge but also on practical skills, creativity, collaboration, communication, and the ability to apply knowledge to real-life situations.
At Advanced Level (S.5–S.6), Palabek Secondary School offers a variety of subjects from which learners can pursue combinations aligned with their abilities, interests, and future career aspirations. These include sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, as well as arts and humanities including History, Geography, Economics, Literature in English, Divinity, and Entrepreneurship. The school also offers Fine Art, Agriculture, and ICT-related subjects.
